Mal-ware protection encompasses more than just Anti-virus

Malware, short for malicious software, is software designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system without the owner's informed consent. The expression is a general term used by computer professionals to mean a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code. The term is sometimes used as a catch-all phrase to include all types of malware, including true viruses. Software is considered malware based on the perceived intent of the creator rather than any particular features. Malware includes computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, most rootkits, spyware, dishonest adware, crimeware and other malicious and unwanted software. In law, malware is sometimes known as a computer contaminant.

So how do you protect your computers and your private data

1. Always run antiviurs software and keep it up to date- we recomend

2. Do not install software from website promising to clean your computer.

3. Do not open emails (even from friend) with attachments unless you are expecting it.

4. Do not have your email software full rendure HTML emails.

5. Install a trusted spyware removeal program like ad-aware or Spy-bot.

6. If you think you may me infected Run a full system scan from safemode.
